Griese leads Dolphin romp, 31-3.

Miami - In his first professional start, rookie quarterback Bob Griese passed for over 300 yards and threw a pair of touchdown passes to lead the Miami Dolphins in a 31-3 rout over the Denver Broncos. Griese, the fourth overall pick from Purdue University, guided the Dolphins to record heights in the franchise's second season. It was the second franchise win, and the outcome was never in doubt. Griese was the first Dolphin quarterback to throw for 300 yards, breaking the franchise record of 210 yards set by John Stofa in Denver last year. Abner Haynes exacted revenge against his former club by rushing for a game-high 68 yards and two touchdowns.
